Go Back
Baby back ribs are cut from the top of the rib cage between the spine and the spare ribs. Typically shorter and leaner than spare ribs, these ribs are known for their tenderness and flavor. The meat on baby back ribs is often considered to be more succulent and has a perfect ratio of meat to bone. This unique cut is a favorite among barbecue enthusiasts and is often the star of backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

2 racks baby back ribs (about 4 pounds)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon brown sugar

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Prepare the Ribs: Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and rub olive oil all over them. Season generously with salt and pepper.

Mix BBQ Sauce: In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Whisk together until well mixed.

Marinate the Ribs: Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour half of the BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour (or overnight for maximum flavor).

Prepare the Baking Pan: Line a large baking pan or sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack inside the pan.

Arrange Ribs: Remove the ribs from the marinade, and place them bone-side down on the wire rack. Brush the remaining BBQ sauce mixture over the top of the ribs.

Bake the Ribs: Cover the ribs loosely with aluminum foil to retain moisture and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is pulling away from the bones.

Glaze and Broil: Once the ribs are tender, remove the foil, set the oven to broil, and brush additional BBQ sauce on top of the ribs. Broil for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
